1st Day: Likir (3.500 m) to Yangtang (3.600 m) via Pobe-La (3.550 m) and Charatse-La (3.650 m), 5 hours From Leh you take the jeep to reach the village Likir 3.500 m (11.480 ft). Likir is a small, spread-out village with a monastery on a tributary of the Indus River. Take the path parallel to the jeep track. It is a gradual climb to the small first pass Pobe-La 3.550 m (11.650 ft). You will leave behind all greenery to enter an arid moonscape. The green fields and trees of the village Sumdo soon come into view. It is a long climb through desolate surroundings to the summit of the next pass Charatse-La 3.650 m (11.980 ft). The descend leads you to the prosperous village Yangtang 3.600 m (11.810 ft). From the campsite you have wonderful views over the village of the Zanskar range beyond.
2nd Day: Yangtang (3.600 m) to Ang (3.400 m) via Sarmanchan-La (3.750 m) and Meptek-La (3.750 m), 5 hours Cross the village and go on to a kind of flat as far as an ill defined passes. The first pass is called Sarmanchan-La 3.750 m (12.300 ft). There are views down to the beautiful village of Hemis-Shukpachu. You go down to the tranquil village Hemis-Shukpachu (3.600 m) before you climb the next pass Meptek-La 3.750 m (12.300 ft). Hemis-Shukpachu is a good place to relax before you climb the pass. From the summit you have magnificent views of the Indus Valley. It is an easy half-hour descent towards the village Ang 3.400 m (11.160 ft). The village is prosperous and fertile with a lot of beautiful fields and trees. Here you find a very good campsite near the river.
3rd Day: Ang (3.400 m) to Khalse (3.200 m), 5 hours From Ang head towards the south. Go through the largest and most prosperous village on this trek Temisgam (3.200 m). After a few hours you reach the main road which connects Leh with Srinagar. Then walk only one hour with the road to Khalse. Here our jeep will pick you up and bring you back to Leh.
