ROAD TO FREEDOM (english version) At the beginning of March till August 2008, five Tibetan NGOs based in Dharamsala in North India, had organised the “March to Tibet”, attempting to re-enter Tibet on foot. In a long, hard and streneous road under the scorching heat or the monsoon rains of India, many times disrupted by Indian Police, the march was forced to end near the Tibetan border, under the strict order from the Indian Central Government. Karma Chukey, a Tibetan video maker, followed the marchers from the start of their journey to its tragic end and captured on film all those dramatic moments. This present documentary is a complete report of a very peculiar and important political event in the history of the Tibetan diaspora. A very moving documentary to understand the actual conditions of Tibet, after 50 years of Chinese invasion and occupation of the Roof of the World.
